Comment on Brendas blog on Abortion

I just have to say that i totally disagree as to me it is totally a persons choice. I don't know how you can call it 'murder' as to me it isn't a baby until you've got it in your arms. Don't get me wrong people could put it up for adoption, but what you have to think about is what if it is a 13 year old girl who is scared and confused. Why should she have to be put through such an ordeal. This to me shows just how important and vital sex education is and i also feel that there is a massive need for more sex education in schools and at home. To take a look at Brenda's blog click below.

Bad comedians

I don't think there can be such a thing as a bad comedian, as a lot of people would laugh at their jokes. I do agree that some might find comedian's such as chubby brown a bit offensive but that's only because he can be quite crude. To be honest i absolutely love him, I do however understand that a lot of people would prefer comedians like Peter Kay as they are the what I'd call 'soft' comedians and don't really say much that would offend. Racism

Racism to me is pointless, why should someone be discriminated against all because they have a different skin colour. I feel that there is a lot of racism around still, the only reason i can think of why someone could possibly be racist is because they are scared of all things which are different. Which proves to me that there is an extensive need for more education on all the different cultures especially now as we are becoming more of a multicultural society. To find out more click below.

Comments on Ellies blog about kids

What can be said about this blog, well where can i start. I feel that although the film may have been offensive to Ellie's religion, from reading her blog i feel that Ellie has taken the focus away from children who live such poverty stricken lives and has turned the focus in to her own guilt for not being out there and helping these children which also seems to be societies reaction when watching films like this one. I also feel that Ellie wouldn't need to repent her sins if she actually tried to help. If you wish to take a look click the link below.

Kids

I can understand that this film was a little upsetting for some people. From reading other students blogs i saw that a lot of people felt that it went against their religion and also that they thought it went against their own and societies morals. But i however wasn't really that upset by it as i see it happening all the time, to me this film showed just how much people can determine by the place we live. When you look at where the film was set, it showed young people living in a poverty stricken area, Were they will always face all sorts of social problems and will nine times out of ten have to grow up quickly as that is they only way they will survive. One feels that although it is good and well people saying this film should have never have been made, but if they was to actually go around and take a look at what is going on in these poverty stricken areas then they might actually realise how common underage sex, teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STI's) are. Body modification

This lecture i thought was interesting. As before this lecture if someone had asked me about what body modification was, i would have said that it was someone who has a tattoo because they either want to keep up with fashion and/or there gang/cult. However i found the part about the Maori the most interesting. The reason being that the Maori don't just have tattoo's for fun/decoration etc. but they actually use them as a way of identifying people and each swirl represents a part of that persons life.

Being to religous

Religion is something that has always been around and i don't have a problem with people who do tend to be overly religious such as Jehovah's witnesses. I feel that they are overly religious as they are out most weeks knocking on peoples doors trying to persuade them to join there religion which, i totally don't agree with. However i do believe that there are a lot of people who are religious around and that a lot of people might not practice a religion but do have faith and every now and then say a little prayer. I guess my point is that i don't agree with people who try to push their beliefs on others but everybody has a little faith and there for have some sort of religion. If you are interested and wish to find out the history of Jehovah's witnesses click below.

Bandits and Outlaws

This lecture i thought was ok, but i feel that people tend to look at bandits and outlaws as complete bad people. This however is not always the case as everybody has a reason for doing the things they do. If we look at Robin Hood as an example, i don't feel that he was a bad person as he robbed the rich to give to the poor. If you wish to find out more click the link below.

Infidelity

When people look at infidelity, they seem to look at it in disgust. This is mainly because the majority of people feel that if you are with a partner you commit yourself to that person. Infidelity is no doubt probably one of the things that does actually involve being quite bad, the list to follow shows some of the bad things which are involved with infidelity: lying, scheming and calculating and hypocrisy. If you've been cheated on click the link below to name and shame them.

Masturbation

Masturbation it is often spoke about in contempt and embarrassment as society seems to see masturbation as a subject which is hard to discuss and when it's used in discussion it is done so in a humorous way. This is partly because people see it as a sex act in which should only be seen in porn films. Masturbation tends to be looked at as a thing that only teenage boys and males do, however this isn't always the case as females do masturbate. To find out more click the link below.

smoking

Is smoking really as bad as people think, if a person smokes does it make them bad.
Smoking should be down to a persons choice, but recent government legislation seems to be taking that choice away. How dare they try to tell people where and when they can smoke. From the summer of 2007 people in England will not be able to smoke in pubs, clubs, restaurants or public spaces. I think that it's just a simple easy way for the government to try and take control over the publics lives. For more info on the the new smoking ban click below.
